Book of Enoch 6.1

The Book of Enoch is a significant pseudepigraphal text attributed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. Enoch, son of Jared, is renowned in biblical history as one of the rare individuals who ascended to heaven without experiencing death, a feat also achieved by Elijah. The biblical account states, "And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more, because God took him away" (Genesis 5:24; Hebrews 11:5). During the second century B.C.E., The Book of Enoch emerged as a notable non-canonical apocryphal work, profoundly influencing early Christian beliefs, particularly within Gnostic circles. Its narrative is characterized by vivid depictions of celestial realms, infernal domains, angelic beings, demonic forces, and seminal theological ideas like the fall of angels, the advent of a Messiah, Resurrection, Final Judgement, and the prophesied Heavenly Kingdom on Earth.
